Reminder: it’s not a sprint, it’s a marathon. Need to keep hammering that into my head.

Some photos I will find interesting, some will lack a special element. But the big objective is not the end photo but the journey of exploring and looking to create an image a day… and then one day sharing that collection with the world.

Approaching the world with new eyes. Finding time to create without requiring a soul to be on the other side. Hoping to stumble across something new each day and capture it as a memento.

There’s a danger when using a tool (read: camera) and then slowly devolving to believe that it’s the only tool for your work/creation. Using photographic film to take portraits is a process that I won’t be abandoning anytime soon but I have all too often forgotten that I own other great tools to capture moments and places that I stumble across. This beautiful piece by one of my favorite photographers Autumn de Wilde was a great reminder to go out, explore and capture what I see.

And thus, these photos represent what I have seen today that I wanted to share with you.

I love when Oscar gets back from visiting our family in the Midwest. The kid keeps growing in every possible way!

This kid inspires me more than anything else these days.

One thing I know…

100% of my work and drive wouldn’t exist if I sat on my ass 6 years ago. Push yourself. Stretch yourself. Go explore this beautiful world.

Vacation time has been good to us.
